The headquarters for the fight against terror has published guidelines for Israelis planning to travel abroad during spring and summer holidays (Passover, independence Day, Lag BA-Omer, Shavuot).
Cautions pertain to 28 countries, the border regions of ten countries and six countries, a visit which is prohibited by law, they are based on accurate, reliable intelligence and represent a real threat, the document says. A major addition to the published recommendations is information about the increased risk of traveling to Turkey and the requirement for caution when traveling in Europe (in the Wake of recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels).
The recommendations of the Headquarters for the fight against terror is the increased intensity of terrorist attacks carried out by militants of the «Islamic state» and other groups throughout the world. ISIS and al-Qaeda threaten new attacks in Western countries, especially those countries which participate in military operations against these groups in Syria and Iraq (primarily US, Australia, UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Russia, and Turkey).
«We urge citizens to pay special attention to the need for vigilance during your stay abroad, especially during the coming holidays, despite the lack of concrete information about the intention of terrorist acts against Israeli citizens or facilities. The headquarters for the fight against terror urges citizens to pay particular attention to the need for vigilance during the stay in crowded places, which can become a target of terrorist attacks, such as: tourist attractions, stadiums, cultural, entertainment and shopping centers, hotels, airports, train stations and hubs. We recommend that anyone travelling abroad, especially organized turgrupp, to adhere to the rules of conduct abroad, published on the website of the Headquarters for the fight against terror and urge to stand out, while in the above-mentioned places (this applies to clothing style, the use of Hebrew and characteristic attributes)», – stated in the document.
Recommendations by country
The risk of living in Turkey today – the «second tier» (higher specific risk). The headquarters for the fight against terror strongly urged to refrain from traveling to Turkey or as soon as possible to leave this country.
On the African continent has increased the threat of terrorist attacks against Western and Israeli targets (especially against businessmen, Israeli firms and companies, and also against hotels owned by foreigners from Western countries and inhabited by tourists from the West). Especially high threat of terrorist attacks in Kenya, where the terrorist group Al-Shabab, and in Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger, where the militants of the terrorist organization «Boko Haram».

There is a threat of terrorist attacks in Tunisia from the movement «global Jihad», especially during the festive events on Lag b’omer in Djerba.
There is a danger of terrorist attacks in other North African countries and in the region of Sudan, where the militants group «al-Qaeda in the Maghreb».
«Continuing worldwide terrorist campaign under the auspices of Iran and Hizbullah threatens Israeli and Jewish sites around the world, tourist attractions, visited by Israelis, and Jewish symbols (persons and objects, including rabbis, heads of Jewish communities, centers of Beit Chabad). The headquarters for combating terrorism stresses that in accordance with the law to prevent infiltration is strictly prohibited to visit enemy States: Syria, Iraq (including Kurdistan), Iran, Lebanon, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Also recommended to refrain from trips to Azerbaijan.
Note that the recommendation of the Staff related only to terrorist threats, they do not take into account the fighting in the regions, for example in the East of Ukraine or in Nagorno-Karabakh.
