High court of justice (the court) rejected the appeal of Sheikh Omar Abu Sara, previously sentenced to 14 months in prison for incitement to violence.
Judge Hanan Meltzer ruled that Abu-Sara had not brought new arguments that were not considered in the lower court, and upheld the previous sentence.
In his sermons, Abu Sara called for Muslims to «fight with the Jews, to cut and kill them,» calling them «the descendants of pigs and monkeys».
The indictment against Abu Saara, who preached at the al-Aqsa mosque were submitted in January 2015. In March 2016, was convicted of incitement and sentenced by the magistrates court to 8 months in prison. In February 2017, the district court allowed the appeal of the prosecution and tougher penalties of up to 14 months in prison.
