Sunday, April 16, the high court dismissed the claim filed against the decision of the Minister of transport close to the time of Passover, the border crossing point «Taba».
The lawsuit was filed by two Israelis who planned to spend the holiday in Sinai. In their statement of claim alleged that the decision to close the border crossing point made by the Minister of transport and reconnaissance Israel Katz, violated their right to freedom of movement, and caused them significant financial damage.
The court found persuasive the arguments of the state, according to which the decision to close the border crossing was due to a real threat of a terrorist attack.
At the same time, the high court ordered the government not later than two weeks for clarification on what authority the decision was made by the Minister of transport.
Border crossing point «Taba» will resume in full on April 18.
