The high court decided not to intervene in the government decision on «House of the patriarchs in Hebron» and dismissed the suit filed by the company «Talmon» trebovaniem to stop the eviction of Jewish families.
The court order States that the position of the state against the home have not changed: neither the company nor individuals can’t be in the building, residents who were evacuated in 2012, pending a final decision on the status of the structure.
In July 2017, about hundreds of settlers broke into the seals on the doors of the «House of the patriarchs» in Hebron and barricaded themselves inside, refusing to leave the building. The settlers said that the unauthorized settlement was a response to government red tape that prevent the recognition of the transaction on acquisition of the house.
Disputes over the ownership of three-storey house, located next to the cave of the Patriarchs, have been going on for six years. At the end of March 2012, the Jewish residents of Hebron, settled the controversial «House of the patriarchs». They provided to the civil administration documents that they claim show that the structure obtained legally. In this case, two branches of one Palestinian family’s claim that the building belongs to them.
13 Jul 2013 the appeals Commission of the military court of Judea and Samaria recognized the legitimate purchase of Hebron’s «House of the patriarchs» by the Council of the Jewish residents of the city. However, the settlement required the sanction of the Minister of defence.
