The Knesset approved in first reading the draft law Rachel Azariah («Kulan»), providing for the increase in the base number of vacation days from 10 to 12 a year.
Azariah was initially proposed to increase the number of vacation up to 15 days per year, but employers ‘ organizations were strongly against.
The new bill is intended to replace the holidays act, enacted in the 50-ies of XX century. The bill received the support of the Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon and economy Minister Aryeh Deri.
Recall that, according to the law, the employee put 14 paid working days a year (including weekend). With the fifth year of seniority in the workplace number of vacation days began to gradually increase to a maximum of 28 days per year, however, when changing workplace, the employee will again remain with two weeks of vacation.
