Thousands of vehicles were confiscated by the police of the Islamic Republic of Iran campaign in support of modesty. Their driver sat behind the wheel, without covering properly the head.
The rules, according to which women can drive a car only if her hair hidden under a scarf-hijab have been introduced a few months ago, but were mostly ignored.
Shortly before the surgery, the head of traffic police of Tehran, General Teymur Hosseini warned voditelnitsa that violation of the instruction will entail the confiscation of the vehicle.
According to him, from March 2015 the Metropolitan police made 40,000 warnings to voditelnitsa, sat down behind the wheel in an inappropriate way. However, this measure did not bring the expected results.
