The Israeli company that brought online play to «Vkontakte», bought for half a billion dollars

Australian company Aristocrat Leisure announced the acquisition of the Israeli manufacturer of computer-multiplayer online games (MMPOG) Plarium for $ 500 million.

The company was founded in 2009 by brothers AVI and Gabi Sallami, brothers Ilya and Haim, Turiashvili, Ivan Vorobeichik, Michael Morgovsky and Yaron Hakimi.

The aim of the founders was to create online games for social networks in Eastern Europe, primarily the Russian «Vkontakte» and «Classmates».

In 2011, the company has already begun to develop a MMPOG for the world market. Among company-owned brands such games like Sparta: War of Empires, Total Domination: Nuclear Strategy, Vikings: War of Clans, Throne: Kingdom at War, Terminator Genisys: Future War, Farmandia.

The company has 1,200 employees and offices in Israel, Russia, Ukraine, USA and the UK.
