Monday, March 19, defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has arrived in the Rwandan capital, Kigali. This is the first official visit of the head of the Israeli defense Department in this country. He met with President Paul Kagame, defence Minister James Kabarebe and Minister of foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo.
Avigdor Lieberman visited the Rwandan Parliament’s building, which suffered during the civil war held the country in 90-ies of the last century, and has left record in the visitors ‘ book.
«The visit to Rwanda has historical significance for relations between the two countries. Rwanda and Israel share a desire for a better future for its citizens, the partnership and successfully developing friendship. I am proud that I became the first defence Minister of Israel, visited your capital. Relations between the two countries today is stronger and deeper than ever,» stressed Lieberman.
