According to the Association of car importers, in may 2017 at an Israeli primary market was sold 24.550 cars, which is 3.7% less than in the same period last year.
Thus, may became the third month in a row, when it registered a decline of sales of new cars. According to the newspaper The Marker, the main reason for this was the tightening of conditions for granting loans to local banks.
In total, during the first five months of this year the Israelis gained 143.600 cars. This is 2.9% higher than a year earlier (growth was achieved, primarily, due to the high level of sales in January).
The leader of the local market continues to be Hyundai with 21.075 implemented with the beginning of the year cars. Brand sales increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.
In second place is another Korean brand – Kia (17.963 sold cars; +3.6 percent), the third – Toyota (15.807; +4.9 per cent).
