The king of Bahrain Hamad bin ISA al-Khalifa plans to pay an official visit to Russia and hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The meeting will be held February 8 at the residence of the Russian leader in Sochi.
The press service of the Kremlin reported that the meeting will be devoted to «developing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, energy, financial and humanitarian spheres. It also assumes a thorough exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, primarily in the context of combating international terrorism».
Earlier Bahrain, after Saudi Arabia, expressed the readiness to send troops to participate in operations in Syria if such a decision will be made by the anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States.
