Jordan’s king Abdullah II will arrive on August 7 in Ramallah to hold talks with President of the Palestinian national authority Mahmoud Abbas. The last time the monarch visited Ramallah in 2012.
According to the TV channel «al Arabiya», the main theme of the talks will be the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks. The political process was frozen in 2014.
The channel also reminds us that the Hashemite Kingdom has played an important role in overcoming the crisis over the Temple mount, to promote the return of the believers in al-Aqsa mosque after Israel removed all introduced after the terrorist attack remedies.
We add that, according to the Jordanian newspaper «al-Rad», Jordan welcomed the decision of the Israeli Prosecutor’s office to initiate a preliminary investigation of the incident, during which a security guard of the Israeli Embassy in Amman killed two Jordanians. This was seen as «a step in the right direction.»
