Plenary meeting of the Knesset approved on Wednesday, June 21, decision on the establishment of a parliamentary Commission of inquiry concerning the bankruptcy of businessman Eliezer Fishman of the debts which amounted to 1.5 billion shekels.
The decision was approved by 42 votes with no abstentions or a vote against.
A Commission headed by the President of the economic Committee of the Knesset Eitan cabel («Zionist camp»). The final composition of the Commission and its mandate will be discussed next week by the Knesset’s rules of procedure.
We will remind that this morning the tel Aviv district court ruled on the recognition of Fishman’s bankruptcy.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Bank of Israel Karnit Flug said he will support the decision on the establishment of an external Commission for the evaluation of banks to issue loans to companies of the Fishman.
