Monday, 24 July, the Knesset Committee on internal Affairs approved second and third readings of the «law on the polygraph».
Under this bill, the part of the police officers periodically pass check on the lie detector. They are going to inspect the persons holding positions that can be used to cause harm to society.
A polygraph test will be the final phase of testing in employment, which are conducted in accordance with the level of access to classified information.
If during the inspection any suspicions, the decision on this issue will be transferred to the Commission. If she comes to the conclusion that a particular police officer not correspond to his post, a decision will be made about his future employment.
If during the inspection there is a suspicion that a police officer has committed a criminal offence, the information will be transferred to the competent authorities for a decision about the beginning of the investigation.
