The largest cinema chains in Russia refused to show «Matilda» – for security reasons

The United network of cinemas «Sinema — Park» and «Formula Kino» refused to rent the movie «Matilda» by Alexei Uchitel – because of security threats.

«The refusal of screenings of the film «Matilda» in our cinemas is a forced decision. Emerged against the background of recent events around the resonance the film might have raised its commercial potential, but the safety of our fans remains our priority», – leads edition of the words of the Novel Linyna, the head of the structure.

The website of the TV channel «Rain» reminds that a network of «cinema Park» is comprised of 39 cinemas in 23 cities of Russia, including in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

On the website of the company «Sinema Park» it is noted that it ranks first in the number of screens (350 screens) and overall box office.

Formula Kino is also one of the largest cinema networks in Russia. It includes 35 cinemas (264 rooms) in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Syktyvkar, Ryazan and Novokuznetsk.

Recall that the film tells about the relationship between the future Emperor Nicholas II and the ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya. The role of the king played by German actor Lars Eidinger, Kschessinska was played by Polish actress Mikhalina Olshansky. The film also starred Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Yevgeny Mironov, Sergei Garmash, Danila Kozlovsky, Grigoriy Dobrygin.

Konstantin Dobrynin suggested that the attack are activists of «the Christian State of Holy Russia», has filed a complaint against this organization to the Minister of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Police began investigating the incident in attempt of an arson criminal case under part 2 of article 213 of the criminal code («Hooliganism»).
