Monday, 17 July, the Knesset approved second and third readings of the law on fair rent, MPs ‘ Stav Shafir («the Zionist camp»), and Swarms of the Flowers («Kulan»).
The new law defines a standard suitable for living apartments and will regulate the relationship between landlord and tenant, but does not interfere in pricing issues.
Among other things, the bill provides that the payment of the realtor falls on the person who hired him. The landlord has the right to demand an advance payment up to a third of the cost of rent for the entire period, but no more than the cost of rent for three months.
If the landlord has delayed the Troubleshooting (more than 30 days from the date of notification of the fault), the lessee gets the right to make repairs and deduct the cost from the rent. If it is faulty, making the apartment uninhabitable, to eliminate landlord law gives three days.
