On 15 March, the Knesset approved in a preliminary reading a bill of the Deputy of Miki Zohar (Likud), whose goal is the deprivation of a minor free access to porn sites and gambling via computers and mobile phones.
For the revised version of the bill voted by 49 members, 16 voted against and two abstained.
The bill Zohar offers financial stimulation of Internet service providers for providing customers with the ability to filter web content. The lobbyists of this law emphasize that for an adult audience access via password to any of the resources will remain unlimited.
Earlier it was reported that the customer who would use the proposed filtering system would have to enter a personal PIN code whenever you would like to go to blocked resources.
In parallel, a bill was Shuli Mualem («Bayt Yehudi»), which on 12 March, was endorsed by the inter-Ministerial Commission on legislation. The act requires that service providers provide free services to clients content filtering and briefed them about the availability of such programs via SMS messages or email.
None of the proposed bills in the latest revision does not involve mandatory for each client filtering Internet content. However, critics of these bills suggest that ISPs will actually begin to learn the habits of their customers and will get the theoretical possibility of compiling «black lists» of consumers of pornography and online gambling, writes Times of Israel.
