The minimum wage in the construction industry rose to 5.600 shekels

The press service of the Israeli national trade Union Federation announced the increase of salaries of the builders, with the result that the minimum wage in the construction industry will be 300 shekels above the minimum wage in the national economy.

Clarification of tariff rates of construction workers is made in connection with the entry into force of the third stage of the sectoral collective agreement signed between trade Union of workers of building and wood industries and construction Association of Israel. This agreement was signed in November 2015 under the mediation of the Chairman of the «Histadrut» AVI Nissenkorn, and subsequently spread to the entire industry construction, infrastructure, public and repairs. The agreement has significantly improved the employment conditions of workers of construction professions, including by raising the minimum wage in sizes larger than provided for in the overall farm.

The last stage provided for in the agreement entered into force on 1 December 2017 and, as of this date, the minimum hourly rate of construction workers will be 30,77 shekels, or when full rate (182 hours per month) – 5.600 shekels a month. The increase in hourly fees will also result in corresponding increases in overtime pay, increase in social security contributions, payment of vacation and sick leave.

In the «Histadrut» pay attention to the fact that the increase in wages will affect not only the workers of the first category, but will result in an increase in payment for all discharges tariff. So, the minimum wage for workers in the eighth, higher level will now be equal to 7,500 shekels, and the minimum salary of the superintendent will be 10,000 shekels.

The Chairman of the «Histadrut» AVI Nissenkorn congratulated the workers and said: «the Histadrut» is committed to continuing its efforts to strengthen the status of construction workers, caring about decent terms and conditions of employment, high standards of safety and guarantees of economic security».
