The Minister of justice of Israel Ayelet shaked completed a two-day working visit to Ukraine. During the visit, the Minister of justice met with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Petrenko and the other leaders of the government of Ukraine.
The meeting discussed the peculiarities of legal systems of both countries, as well as issues of cooperation in the field of extradition of criminals and the state of Ukrainian prisons, reported the press service of the Ministry of justice of Israel.
Ayelet shaked met with the chief Rabbi of Ukraine and Kiev Moshe Reuven Osman, visited Kyiv Brodsky synagogue and took part in the ceremony of commemorating the victims at Babi Yar. It noted that the hatred of Jews is not in the past, and today there are those who threaten the Jewish state’s destruction.
In addition, the Minister held talks with the chief of the National police of Ukraine She Dekanoidze.
Summing up, Ayelet shaked said: «Cooperation between Ukraine and Israel and the preservation of the existing friendly relations essential to both countries.»
