The Ministerial Committee on legislation has once again postponed consideration of the bill of Knesset member from the party «Israel Our home» Orly Levi-Abukasis on granting mortgage loans buying your first apartment in 90% of its value.
At the moment the maximum level granted by banks mortgages is 66%, so to buy an apartment you have to have your own contributions constituting hundreds of thousands of shekels. This is extremely problematic for a significant number of Israeli citizens who buy housing for the first time, especially for young couples.
According to the bill, proposed Orly Levi-Abukasis, one of the main criteria for the granting of loans in 90% is the ability of someone who takes out a mortgage, repay monthly required payments.
The press service of the NDI reports: as the government once again refused to support the bill, which is able to solve the housing problem for many Israelis, Orly Levi-Abukasis will submit it soon to the Knesset.
