Monday, February 20, the Ministry of education has published data on the number of students participating in the activities of youth movements.
According to published data, over the past nine years, the number of pupils of the youth movements increased by 65%, and in 2015 it was 248.600 people. In 2005 it did not exceed 150.400 students.
According to the Ministry of education, the financing of these movements increased from a 49.3 million NIS per year in 2006 to 86.8 million shekels in 2015. Education Minister Naftali Bennett said, speaking at a special press conference, in 2016 the budget of youth movements will amount of 96.8 million.
According to the Ministry of education in 2015 in Israel operated 13 youth movements. 26.3% of members of youth organizations belong to the «mount Scopus», 25.2 per cent to the «A-Noar-Obed», 21,3% of the religious Zionism movement «Bnei Akiva».
In the Jewish sector, the number of activists of youth organizations increased from 22% in 2006 to 30% in 2015. In the Arab sector it increased from 6% in 2006 to 12% in 2015.
