Chief economist of the Ministry of Finance published a weekly report dedicated mainly to the situation on the real estate market.
According to the report, in December 2017, the Israelis gained 8.8 thousand apartments, thousands of them in the framework of «the new settler» («Policy Le-Mistaken»). This is the highest number of apartments under the program, purchased within one month after its launch, said the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
In comparison with December 2016, the sale of housing on the open market (excluding «Policy Le-Mistaken») decreased by 20%. In comparison with November of 2017, a decline of 6%.
Only in 2017 on the open market were purchased 93,8 thousand apartments, which is 14% lower than a year earlier. This figure is also the lowest since 2011, when they passed the mass actions of social protest.
The proportion of investors among home buyers in December, has remained low – 16%. In the year since the investment was acquired 17,4 thousand apartments, which is 22% less than in 2016.
In December, market prices have been sold 1.9 thousand new apartments, which is 13% lower than a year earlier. Only in 2017, was sold for 22 thousand new apartments at market prices – 27% lower than a year earlier. This figure is also the lowest since 2011.
