The Ministry of transport announced a reform in the sphere of services connected with registration of documents

The Minister of transport and exploration Yisrael Katz presented on 20 July an extensive reform in the field of services related to the paperwork for drivers and registration of vehicles. The objective of the programme is to reduce queues at the offices of the Department of motor vehicles as well as simplification of procedures for obtaining documents necessary for drivers and vehicle owners.

It is planned to extend the period of validity of driving permits, expand the list of services provided via the Internet. It is also expected relocation of the offices of Management in a more modern and spacious building. A number of measures envisaged in the framework of the reform will significantly simplify the procedure of registration of vehicles and issuance of documents necessary drivers. All this should improve the level of service citizens.

Transport Minister Yisrael Katz called it one of the most major reforms ever undertaken in the field of registration of vehicles in Israel, which takes into account the real needs of drivers. «The reform will significantly reduce the waiting time, save a huge number of people time and money.
