The Moldovan authorities refused to accept the aircraft of the Ministry of defense of Russia with artists who plan to perform in Transnistria in connection with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in the region. This is stated in the letter that the Ministry of foreign Affairs and European integration (MFAEI) of the Republic of Moldova has directed to the address of the Russian Embassy. The letter was published on Thursday, July 20, on the website Deschide.md .
«The Moldovan competent authorities to refuse permission to fly the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and landing of these aircraft to the Russian air force in the airports of Chisinau and Tiraspol in the absence of the necessary conditions, which the Russian side was earlier repeatedly informed,» the document says.
The Ministry expressed regret about the lack of a coherent plan of joint events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Transnistria and the beginning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. The Moldovan authorities consider it inappropriate to conduct such activities unilaterally.
According to the news Agency TASS, the head of the foreign Ministry Andrei Galbur receives the Ambassador of Russia in Moldova Farit Mukhametshin, with which, in particular, discussed the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester.
«The Moldovan authorities believe that the anniversary of the end of the armed conflict on the Nistru river shall be marked on the basis of the plan of joint activities. The absence of such a plan and deploy unilaterally, such action does not promote trust,» — said in the Ministry.
Mukhametshin, in his turn, said: «the Delegation that will have artists, journalists, expected to arrive by plane of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation. Currently, with the leadership of Moldova worked out the details of this visit. As expected, the celebrations that are planned in Chisinau, Bender and Tiraspol, will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister, special envoy of the Russian President on Transnistria, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Moldovan intergovernmental Commission Dmitry Rogozin.»
