The Munich negotiations agreed to a truce in Syria

Participants taken place on Thursday, 11 February, at the Munich meeting of the International support group Syria reached an agreement on the establishment of the ceasefire during the week. This was announced by the U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry.

«We have agreed on the need to ensure a ceasefire in Syria during the week», – quotes Agency «Interfax» the words of Kerry, said at a press conference following the meeting.

According to the head of the American foreign Ministry, the Geneva talks on the settlement in Syria should «resume as soon as possible», reports RIA «Novosti».

«Today all members of the International group on Syria agreed that the Geneva talks should resume as soon as possible,» said Kerry.

At the meeting it was also agreed immediate delivery to Syria for humanitarian assistance.

As noted in a course a press-conferences the Minister for foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the meeting participants agreed that humanitarian access will be open to all without exception besieged areas of Syria.

While Lavrov said that the Russian VC operation in Syria against the «Islamic state», «Dzhabhat EN-Nusra» and other terrorist groups will continue after the introduction of ceasefire.

«In our documents we have written and said about it: the truce will not apply to ISIL, «Dzhabhat EN Nusra» and other affiliated organizations recognized as terrorist by the decision of the UN security Council. So our air and space force will continue to work against these organizations» – quoted Lavrov, «Interfax».
