The Jerusalem district court sentenced Jerusalem municipality to a fine of 50,000 shekels for breach of duty to the residents of the Arab neighborhoods of the capital.
The decision was made in a suit filed by residents included in the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem but are located behind the security fence of the neighborhoods of Kfar Akab, Semiramis and al-Matar, said «the Second channel ITV».
In 2015, the court ordered the municipality to comply with the requirements of the residents for installation of new sewers, paving roads, laying sidewalks, installing traffic signs and other actions related to the improvement of neighborhoods.
In the new lawsuit, the local area residents accused the municipality in breach of court orders and directives on municipalities.
The court rejected the municipality’s position, insisting on the fact that the delay in the implementation of regulations associated with the need to align work plans with the ministries and with the situation in the security sphere. According to judges, would be to say, if work has already begun, but at the moment the municipality has not produced a work plan.
