The Israeli national Federation of trade Union «Histadrut», working Committee «Chamber theatre» and the theatre’s administration signed a new collective agreement covering about two hundred people in the theater, including administration staff and sales and technical personnel (stagehands, electricians, sound engineers, costume designers, etc.).
The press service of the «Histadrut» notes that the agreement will be in effect until June 2019, was signed after long, intense and difficult negotiations. It includes among other things, the settlement of the conditions and wages of employees, conditions of employment which still has not been ordered.
In the agreement, in particular, stipulates that every employee will receive a bonus based 870 shekels for each working up to the present year in the theater. This payment will be carried out in two stages within two months after signing the agreement. In addition, there is a one-time payment to all employees on the occasion of the signing of the agreement in the amount of 3.560 shekels.
The agreement also provides that employees who have worked in theater for more than two years, will get permanent status («quiet»). Also, the agreement stipulated a mechanism of dismissal of workers, giving a significant role in making such decisions, «the Histadrut» and the working Committee.
The Chairman of the Histadrut AVI Nissenkorn said at the signing ceremony of the agreement: «this is a good agreement that provides for a balance between improved working conditions and payment of employees and the interests of the administration of the theater. I want to thank the employees and members of the working Committee for the hardness of the spirit manifested in the course of negotiations, and the administration as the «Chamber theater» for cooperation».
