The national security Council of Turkey recommended that the government another three months to extend the state of emergency in the country. It is reported by the Anadolu news Agency.
The NSS meeting was convened in Ankara on the evening of 17 April at the initiative of President Recep Erdogan Taipa, and it lasted about 50 minutes. «Was the assessment imposed on the entire country of state of emergency. To continue to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, democracy and the rule of law agreed to recommend to extend the state of emergency,» the SNB said in a statement.
Operating now in Turkey the state of emergency should have ended on 19 April, it was extended twice for three months after the attempted coup of July 15, 2016.
