According to the Council for higher education in 2017, the number of ultra-Orthodox students studying computer science have exceeded 1.100 people, which is 2.25 times higher than four years ago.
As reported by «Globes», at the moment the representatives of the Jewish community of ultra-Orthodox («haredim») make up 6% of the total number of students in the computer departments. 70% of them were women, whereas among other groups, studying the computers, the share of women is 30%.
The total number of students-«haredim» made in 2017 12.3 thousand people, which is 60% more than in 2013.
However, it should be noted that the proportion of students dropping out, among the «haredim» three times higher than among other students.
