The Chairman of the people’s Republic of China XI Jinping for the first time during his tenure visited Hong Kong to commemorate the visit is expected to mass protests, according to CNN.
The visit, XI Jinping celebrates the 20th anniversary of the transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong people’s Republic of China.
XI Jinping will be in Hong Kong from 29 June to 1 July. During the visit, the Chinese President will take part in celebrations dedicated to the anniversary of the annexation of Hong Kong, will make the inspection of garrisons and participate in other official ceremonies.
The Hong Kong authorities, expecting mass protests, are taking extra security measures. In particular, some areas of the city are blocked to traffic and pedestrians.
