The President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni won the next presidential election. 71-year-old Museveni holds the position of Ugandan President since 1986.
CNN reports that for the candidature of Museveni voted 60.7% of the votes, while his rival, opposition leader Kizza Besigye is 35.3% participated in the elections the Turnout was 63% of eligible voters.
It should be noted that the opposition contests the official results of the elections and claims that Beseige is leading in the voting.
The leader of the opposition and several of his supporters were placed under house arrest for what he was about to announce his version of the election results, and the laws of the country allow us to inform the outcome of the election only to authorized officials.
