Last Friday the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has published on his page on the social network Twitter text, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the deportation of Ukrainians to Siberia, illustrating his archival photo, which depicted the Jews of Lodz, where the Nazis sent to the death camps.
About the incident, proving the incompetence of the administration Poroshenko, writes Wednesday, October 25, the website of the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.
«Today is the 70th anniversary of the mass deportation of the population of Western regions of Ukraine to Siberia and Northern regions of the former USSR. Remember» – wrote the Ukrainian leader in his blog. The photo illustrating the text were made in 1942 in Lodz, the Jewish inhabitants were sent to the Chelmno death camp (Kulmhof) – the first Nazi death camp in Poland where extermination of Jews and Gypsies. This picture is stored in the archives of the Holocaust Museum of the United States.
Edward Dolinsky, head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee has commented on this oversight on his page on the social network Facebook, calling it «strange». To date, the presidential tweet was deleted from his page.
