Contrary to the forecasts of economists, who had expected the consumer price index in Israel, in February 2017, the index remained unchanged compared with the January figure.
In February, significantly decreased the prices of clothing and footwear (-5,3%) and communications (1.6 million%). At the same time, vegetables and fruits rose by 5.2%, and furniture and equipment for home – 0.6%.
The index of housing prices decreased in December by 1.2% in January rose 0.5%. In addition, the CSB made corrections to the data for December, reporting that the decline was 0.5%.
The rate of inflation over the past 12 months was 0.4% at goal in 1% -3%. In the existing macroeconomic situation and policy of the government economists predict that inflation by the end of the year will remain near zero.
