The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu is on an official visit in Berlin. Tuesday, February 16, he will have talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel in the framework of the intergovernmental meeting (G2G).
As explained by the press service of the head of the government, it would be the sixth such meeting. The parties will hold a series of talks and signed several bilateral agreements to further strengthen relations between the two States.
The main topics of the intergovernmental consultations will be cooperation in areas such as safety, cyberestore, technology, research and development, regulation, energy, transportation, future, global social responsibility, health care, medical technologies, public relations.
The Israeli side positively assesses the progress made since the previous round of consultations held in Jerusalem on 25 February 2014, said the press service.
Sixth intergovernmental meeting of Israel and Germany testifies to the depth and extent of cooperation in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two States. Both sides came to an agreement that these 50 years are characterized by the constant strengthening of bilateral cooperation between all sectors of society.
The German side in the negotiations will be represented by Chancellor Angela Merkel, Minister for economic Affairs and energy Sigmar Gabriel, foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, interior Minister Thomas de maizière, Minister of justice and consumer protection Heiko Maas, Minister of health Hermann Gree, Minister of environment, nature conservation and nuclear safety Barbara Hendricks, the head of the office of the Federal Chancellery Peter Altmaier, Deputy Minister of transport and digital infrastructure Dorothy Baer, Deputy Minister of education and research Thomas Rachel, parliamentary state Secretary Thomas Silberhorn.
