The Prosecutor’s office signed an agreement with the former head of the office of Netanyahu

On Friday, August 4, the public Prosecutor’s office signed an agreement with the former chief of staff of the Prime Minister’s office Ari Haro on granting it the status of a state’s witness.

As reported by Walla, Haro had to testify a few weeks in exchange for leniency on charges against him.

In December 2015, it was reported that Ari Haro is suspected of a series of offences relating to the management of the company, which was in his possession. Before you start working in the office of the Prime Minister Ari Haro undertook to sell the company and retire. However, the investigating authorities came to the conclusion that the transaction on sale of the company was fictitious, and Ari Haro, in government positions, continued to promote the interests of the company, to direct its work and make a profit.

In February 2017, the investigating authorities transferred to the Prosecutor its conclusion, stating that the investigation has collected sufficient evidence base for the presentation of Haro charges of bribery, fraud, conspiracy, money laundering in the period of work in the office of the Prime Minister.

3 Aug magistrate’s court in Rishon LeZion issued an injunction on the publication of any details of the negotiations with Ari Haro and his lawyers to grant him the status of a state witness on business 1000 and 2000.

Judge Einat Ron has satisfied the request of the police to prohibit the publication of any information that is disclosed in these negotiations. The ban on publication imposed until 17 September.

Portal Ynet wrote that the effect of the injunction does not apply to information that has been published so far. In this case cited the court’s decision, which implies that Netanyahu is suspected of bribery and betrayal of public trust. This was also told the Walla News website NRG, Haaretz and other media.

The evening of 3 August visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the social network Facebook was published the following statement: «We categorically reject flimsy and based on nothing statements that are against the Prime Minister. The hunt, which aims to lead to the change of power in the country, is in full swing, but it is doomed to failure for one reason: nothing will happen, because nothing happened.»

We will remind that on August 1 the court approved the police request for a ban on publication of any details relating to a «matter of submarines» («case of 3000»). In particular, the prohibition applies to the publication of data derived from a state’s witness Mickey Ganora and investigative activities held on the basis of the obtained information from him. This prohibition also will be valid until September 17. Note that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not a defendant in the «case of the submarines».

The correspondent of the 2nd channel, Moshe Nussbaum, noted that at present it is unclear what data can inform the consequence of Ari Haro, who is suspected in the case, not connected with the cases against Benjamin Netanyahu. But, it is supposed that he has important information. These assumptions are based on the fact that the Prosecutor’s office initiated negotiations with Haro on granting it the status of Gassville, and his lawyer. The offer was made a few months ago, but only recently the Prosecutor’s office decided to use its help.
