Saturday, August 12, in Charlottesville (Virginia, USA) thousands of activists of right-wing organizations – among them neo-Nazis and members of the Ku Klux Klan – out to the next protest demonstration against the decision of the city authorities to demolish the monument to the commander of the army of the Confederate States of America Robert Edward Lee.

A similar event took place on 8 July. Then she ended with collisions with police and detention of dozens of protesters.
This time the event called «Unity of right» was held in Emancipation Park. To ensure the order was attracted by hundreds of police.
A few hours before the official action, on Saturday night a group of far-right activists had organised a torchlight procession. These actions provoked clashes with opponents of the city of the far-right March, which injured dozens of people. The police had to intervene to restore order. The Governor of Virginia in Charlottesville imposed the state of emergency, the municipality announced the cancellation of the event the right-wing. To resolve the situation was brought additional forces of state police and National guard soldiers.
When the police almost managed to restore order in the garden of Emancipation, in the center of Charlottesville into a crowd of citizens protesting against the actions of right-wing, at high speed crashed into a Dodge Challenger. Killed 32-year-old woman, 19 others got injured, some of them hospitalized in serious or even critical condition.
The driver tried to escape but was detained. It was the 20-year-old Alex James fields, Jr. of Ohio. He was indicted on one count of murder in the second degree (intentional but not premeditated murder), three counts of bodily harm and one count of leaving the scene of the crime. Motives not clear until the end. In many American media of the action fields, named «domestic terrorism».
In the second half of the day on Saturday near Charlottesville crashed police Bell 407 helicopter that provided support to forces engaged in public security, two people were killed. Based on the available information, the helicopter crash was not the result of someone’s malicious actions. The causes of the crash are being investigated. The names of the dead: Lieutenant J. Cullen (48) and pilot Burke Bates (40).
The President of the United States Donald trump expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and condemned the actions that led to bloodshed in Charlottesville.
Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe said at a press conference that the far right have no place in his state or in America. «I have a message for all the racists and the Nazis, who arrived today in Charlottesville: go home. Do you think that you are patriots, but you are anything but patriots», – quotes its statement to TASS.
