Chinese consortium National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), in 2012 bought the rights to the brand and manufacturing facilities of Saab, presented the electric vehicle based on Saab 9-3 sedan, according to Autohome.
The new plant brand in Tianjin has started the test production of the model. Full-scale production is scheduled to begin next summer.
Electric car, called the NEVS 9-3EV, built on the basis of the Saab 9-3 second generation, whose production ceased in 2014. External differences are minor. In place of analog scales appeared digital instrument panel, multimedia system with touchscreen and modified the Central tunnel with joystick transmission control, writes Motor.ru.
NEVS 9-3EV is equipped with an electric motor 177 HP power and battery pack capacity of 144 ampere-hours. Information on the reserve without the need of recharging have not yet been reported. Previously, NEVS stated that it reaches 300 km.
