Government security forces encircled the office of the attorney General of Venezuela, Luisa Ortega, previously required the court to order temporary removal of the inauguration of the Constituent Assembly, reports the BBC.
Ortega, a prominent opponent of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, told the court that the results of the recent Constituent Assembly election was rigged.
Recall, July 30, in Venezuela, elections were held for the National constitutional Assembly. A new Constituent Assembly empowered to rewrite the Constitution and deprive of power the Congress controlled by the opposition.
The Venezuelan opposition has refused to recognize the election results and rioted. The international community has subjected to criticism the elections. The US imposed sanctions against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
