10-th channel ITV argues that the national security Council is considering a plan providing for the exclusion of the Arab village of Kfar Akab and refugee camp of Shuafat from the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem and the creation of a separate municipality.
It should be noted that both localities are on the other side of the security fence and more than 10 years virtually cut off from the Israeli capital.
Under the proposed plan, the budget of the new municipality will be formed due to direct government subsidies. The population of the new entity will amount to 140 thousand people.
The portal nana10 notes that at the moment we are talking only about the preliminary plan. Soon government officials will study the situation on the ground to assess possible options for improving the quality of life in the area.
