The Soyuz spacecraft with international crew was launched from Baikonur

The carrier rocket «Soyuz-FG» with manned spacecraft «Soyuz TMA-19M», carrying the new crew of the International space station (ISS), Tuesday, 15 December, launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome, RIA Novosti reported.

The ship will deliver to the ISS a new crew of Yuri Malenchenko (Roscosmos), Timothy Koper (NASA), Timothy Peak (European space Agency).

Docking of «Soyuz» with the ISS is scheduled six hours after launch.

Aboard the ISS a new crew expect Mikhail Kornienko and Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos) and Scott Kelly (NASA).

The ISS crew have to work with the new transport cargo spacecraft «Progress M-M» and «Progress M-S». In addition, the crew must perform one spacewalk under the Russian program and to take the American cargo ships Dragon and Cygnus, and to perform works on equipping the Russian and American segments of the ISS.

Crew return is tentatively scheduled for June 5, 2016. Thus, Malenchenko will spend in space 174 days, and its total duration will reach 815 days. This will allow the astronaut to become the second in the world by time spent outside of the Earth (the record now belongs to the Russian Gennady Padalka and 878 days for five flights), notes TASS.
