The leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh made his first speech after being elected head of the Politburo of the terrorist group. In the speech, he said that the Palestinian jihadists will continue the armed struggle against Israel.
Haniyeh called Palestinian refugees ‘ right of return, the liberation of Palestine and its Holy sites, the establishment of a state with its capital in Jerusalem, the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, adding that in these matters of concessions.
«We will support any diplomatic effort that will contribute to the realization of our historic rights. We reject terrorism, but will continue the armed struggle against the invaders. The occupation is the real terrorism,» he said.
The leader of the group said that it remained committed to achieving national unity. In this context, he mentioned attending a meeting in Cairo of the delegation of Hamas former leader of Fatah in the Gaza strip Muhammad Dahlan.
According to publications in the Arab media, Egypt is trying to attract Dahlan, the chief opponent of Mahmoud Abbas in the Fatah movement, to the management of the sector. Hamas is also interested in this.
