Published report, state Comptroller Yosef Shapira on the activities of parties and MPs during his election campaign to the Knesset on the 20th convocation.
The report stated that a member of Knesset, Oren Hazan provided to the state controller a fictitious financial report. In particular, he has not indicated personal expenses for the election campaign. The state auditor reminded that such actions are a criminal offence, punishable in the imprisonment for a term of three years. Yosef Shapira recommended that the legal Advisor to the government to dispose of about the beginning of a criminal investigation in respect of Oren Hazan.
Oren Hazan, familiar with the report prior to its publication, claims that he was first elected to the Knesset and was not familiar with the laws. The MP promised to make future conclusions.
Oren Hazan fined by the state auditor for 5,000 shekels, and the materials of the investigation were submitted to the legal Advisor.
Oren Hazan is not the only politician in the actions of which violations were found during the inspection. The state auditor also were fined: Nachum Erel Margalit at 7,500 shekels, Naftali Bennett — 30,000, Gil gamli’el — 2.250 shekels, Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin — 2,000 shekels, Nisan Slomiansky — 1,800 shekels, Jackie levy — 1,000 shekels.
