Tuesday, December 8, the Supreme court admitted the appeal of former chief physician of the psychiatric medical center «Eitanim» Jacob Margolin.
Margolin, together with two employees of the medical center, was recognized to neglect the welfare of patients. The verdict in 2012, was a case about the bullying your patients into the office for people with autism.
The district court ruled that Margolin knew about what was happening in the Department, however, took no action to stop the violence on the sick. In turn, the Supreme court ruled that there is no evidence of guilt Margolin and it is impossible to establish whether he knew about what was happening.
The Supreme court has upheld a guilty verdict against the head of the Department Dr. Daniel Meir and changed his sentence: six months of community service. Daniel Meir was found guilty of abuse of helpless people and neglect patients.
Charge nurse Dana Ben-Meir also found guilty, and the Supreme court left the verdict in force, by reducing the sentence to nine months of public works to six.
