The survey «Levada-center»: the most outstanding figure in the history of Russia – Joseph Stalin

Dictator Josef Stalin took the first place in the rating of personalities in history, ahead of current Russian President Vladimir Putin and «the sun of Russian poetry» — Alexander Pushkin.

About it write on Monday, 26 June, Russian media, citing the results of sociological poll «Levada-center».

This survey was conducted in the period from 7 to 10 April 2017 on a representative nationwide sample of urban and rural population among 1600 people aged 18 years and older in 137 localities of the 48 regions of the country by personal interview. The statistical error is 3.4%.

In the first place Stalin put 38% of respondents, followed by Putin and Pushkin, think so 34% of Russians. It is noted that the Russian President first came in the three of leaders of such surveys conducted since 1989.

The ten outstanding personalities also got Peter I (29%), Yuri Gagarin (20%), Lev Tolstoy (12%), Georgy Zhukov (12%), Catherine (11%) and Mikhail Lermontov (11%).
