The President of Russia Vladimir Putin ordered to conduct a survey of the residents of Crimea and Sevastopol on the subject of a contract with Ukraine for the supply to these regions of power. This document will indicate, in particular, that the Peninsula is part of Ukraine’s territory.
About it writes on Thursday, 31 December, news Agency RIA Novosti citing a statement by Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak.
«The President instructed to urgently contact one of the leading professional agencies in order to conduct a sociological survey of the population of the Crimea and Sevastopol in the following questions. First question: do you support or not the conclusion of the sales contract with Ukraine for the supply of parts of electricity in the Crimea and Sevastopol, if it is specified that Crimea and Sevastopol are part of Ukraine» – leads the publication the words of the Minister, said in an interview with reporters.
Novak noted that this formulation insists the Ukrainian side, while the Russian could not agree.
The second question that is proposed to meet the Crimeans, was formulated as follows: are you ready to temporary difficulties related to minor disruptions of energy supply within the next 3-4 months.»
The energy Minister stressed that the Russian President considers appropriate to conduct such a survey before making the final decision on the contract.
