The militants of the terrorist organization the Taliban freed six hostages captured after crash landing a Pakistani helicopter. Among the hostages were five citizens of Pakistan and one citizen of Russia.
News Agency Reuters reported the release of five Pakistani military and the Russian Navigator Sergey Sevastyanov. The Taliban gave them to one of the local clans, and the hostages went to the border of Pakistan. From the border they were transported to Islamabad.
The first announcement about the release of the hostages received 11 August, but the Russian foreign Ministry then denied this information.
August 4 in Afghanistan made an emergency landing the helicopter Mi-17 helicopters belonging to Pakistan. Navigator of the helicopter was a Russian citizen.
The helicopter, assigned to fleet government of Pakistan’s Punjab province, followed in Uzbekistan for the passage of maintenance.
