The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine has opened a criminal investigation against Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk , suspected of involvement in the corruption scheme with a turnover of 90 million dollars a year.
About it writes on Tuesday, 8 December, British newspaper the Times referring to the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine David Sakvarelidze.
The official said that as a result of check at Odessa port plant have found evidence of the involvement of the suspected in embezzlement of profits that state-owned enterprises.
«We searched last weekend, and the first thing he found – a relationship with the office of the Prime Minister and the government. This is a very high-profile case, which promises to be very interesting. We found millions of dollars that were stolen from the government (state Treasury)», – quotes the Deputy Prosecutor General edition Expert.
In a press-service of the Prime Minister calls these accusations baseless and unrelated to reality.
The article says that the Odessa port plant and Austrian company Antra has created a scheme in which the Austrians put more than half of volumes of gas at the Odessa plant in exchange for ammonia and fertilizer. Antra gets these products at a cost that allows it to earn in a free market.
The publication notes that Sakvarelidze is included in a «team» of ex-President of Georgia, and nowadays the Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, which some observers predict the position of future head of the Cabinet of Ministers. The ratings of the trust Yatsenyuk has fallen sharply – today it does not exceed 2%.
