The Turkish Parliament on Tuesday, April 18, approved the extension of emergency rule in the country for another three months.
Earlier in the day the relevant decision was approved by the government.
On the eve of the national security Council of Turkey encouraged the government to extend the state of emergency. The NSS meeting was convened in Ankara at the initiative of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
«Was the assessment imposed on the entire country of state of emergency. To continue to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, democracy and the rule of law agreed to recommend to extend the state of emergency,» the SNB said in a statement.
Operating now in Turkey the state of emergency should have ended on 19 April, it was extended twice for three months after the attempted coup of July 15, 2016.
