Philippine court on December 1, acknowledged lance corporal, U.S. marine Joseph Scott Pemberton guilty of murder-woman transgender Jennifer Laude, and we sentence a marine to imprisonment for a period of 6 to 12 years and to pay compensation in the amount of 4.5 million pesos to the victim’s family, reports CNN.
Nude Jennifer was found dead last year in a hotel room, located near the base of the U.S. Navy under the Manila. According to witnesses, the killer and the victim met at a local disco, and then immediately went to the hotel. When already at the hotel Pemberton found Jennifer the male organ, marine strangled transgender in a fit of anger.
The court found Pemberton guilty of manslaughter, but the family Jennifer and the Filipino public believe the sentence is too soft.
A marine will be in Muntinlupa in jail until the Philippine and American authorities will not come to an agreement on how the country Pemberton will serve a prison sentence.
