The select Committee on intelligence, United States Senate handed an official summons to former White house adviser on national security issues, Michael Flynn, and the personal lawyer of the President of the United States Donald trump Michael Cohen, CNN reports.
Subpoenas were issued as part of the investigation Commission of the Senate about the possibility of Russian interference in presidential elections in the United States.
The subpoenas from the Flynn and Cohen require to give evidence before the Commission, and to provide documents related to the businesses of both close trump.
These are the first subpoenas issued in the investigation. The agenda was presented after Michael Flynn refused to answer the questions of the members of the Senate, invoking the Fifth amendment to the Constitution that allows the accused not to give testimony that might hurt.
