The administration of U.S. President Donald trump ordered to suspend the accelerated process of issuing visas H-1B, is designed for foreigners coming to work in American companies in the field of high-tech, according to Reuters.
The order will come into force on 3 April and will run for six months.
The H-1B allows U.S. companies to hire employees in several areas, including information technology, medicine, engineering, and mathematics.
The accelerated processing time for a visa takes 15 days, whereas the conventional period of the application can last several months.
Currently, the U.S. provides up to 65 thousand visas H-1B per year. Another 20 thousand visas can be issued to those who are in the United States received second and third degrees. Visa H-1B is valid for three years but may be renewed for a further three years.
